CALL FOR ABSTRACTS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON MEGACITIES OF SOUTH ASIA

Greetings from Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP).
It’s a pleasure to announce that Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) is going to organize an International Workshop on Megacities of South Asia in December 2024 as a part of the 50 Years Celebration of BIP.
In this connection, Abstracts between 350‑500 words are invited from planners and relevant professionals and experts on the following themes as specified below or any other pertinent issues relating to the main theme of the workshop:
- Sustainable Urban transport
- Challenges on urban services, facilities and amenities
- Pollution and environmental issues
- Transportation and densification‑led urban development and impact on infrastructures and economic services
- Impacts of Urbanization on public health
- Historical transformation of South Asian megacities from Mughal to modern times
- New phenomena in informal settlements
- Urban protests, social movements, gentrification, gender and cultural aspects of urbanization
- Housing challenges and affordable housing
