Uttaran has launched the DJI Matrice 350 RTK Drone equipped with a Zenmuse L2 LiDAR Camera for the first the time across Bangladesh in order to collect data for identifying the weak zone of embankments and landscape mapping in the SURF-IT project.

The DJI Matrice 350 RTK drone and Zenmuse L2 LiDAR camera create detailed 3D models of coastal landscapes for applications like floodplain mapping, erosion monitoring, and construction planning. The Zenmuse L2 uses LiDAR technology to penetrate canopies and measure elevation accurately, capturing millions of data points per second. The Matrice 350 RTK features advanced capabilities, improved safety, robust payload, efficient battery system, and supports 1080p HD live feeds with a 20 km transmission range. The DJI RC Plus controller, with a high-brightness screen and dual operator mode, enhances operational efficiency. LiDAR data can be processed into digital elevation models, orthomosaics, and 3D point clouds.
In the SURF-IT Project, the Matrice 350 RTK and Zenmuse L2 map coastal landscapes and collect samples in southwest coastal Bangladesh. The drone’s high payload and flight performance enable rapid data acquisition, saving time and money. It identifies weak spots in vulnerable embankments and ensures precise coastal feature measurement for real-time surge forecasting. Sophisticated safety measures and redundancy systems reduce risks to communities and property. With an operational endurance of up to 55 minutes, the Matrice 350 RTK efficiently covers extensive coastal areas in a single flight session.
Uttaran embarked on the first flight in Shaymnagar on June 3, 2024. The first flight of the survey lasted about 40 minutes and covered an area of 0.8 sq km, showcasing the incredible performance in visualizing 3D models of the coastal landscape.
